We firmly believe that volunteers offer a valuable contribution to the services provided by Carolina House Trust.
A volunteer is a person who freely gives their time, skills and experience without expectation of financial reward. Volunteering can take many forms. Some tasks require particular skills, whereas others require none. Volunteering may be for a limited time to complete a particular project or may be on an ongoing basis.
The manager at each of the Trust’s services will act as the first point of contact for initial enquiries.
The Trust will not recruit volunteers to replace paid employees. In general, we will recruit volunteers for specific tasks or projects.
All prospective volunteers will have the opportunity to meet a designated employee who will enquire about what they would like to do, their particular skills, suitability and how best their potential as a volunteer might be realised. The prospective volunteer will have to complete an application form , but help can be given with this if necessary.
As volunteering will involve regular contact with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults, it is a requirement that an Enhanced Disclosure check is carried out, and a satisfactory result received.
