Carolina House Trust is delighted to annouce that they have been successful in securing a grant from Children in Need in support of the 'Carolina 1815' project.

Following a recent application to the Children in Need Appeal a grant award of £10,000 has been awarded to the organisation. The one year grant will be used to  pay for health and safety equipment and clothing for the use on the 'Carolina 1815' boat project.

BBC Children in Need distributes £14.8 million to projects working with disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. Every project that receives a grant from BBC Children in Need works with children and young people who may be affected by homelessness, neglect, abuse or poverty, or those who are living with a serious illness, disability or psychological disorder. All of the grants are targeted to areas where they will make a real difference and are allocated geographically to ensure that all corners of the UK receive a share of the money raised.

Bill Wardley Smith, Manager of the project, and Jim Cobb, the boat's Skipper are both extremely pleased at the news. 'Carolina 1815' has just recently returned to the water at Oban Marina , Kerrara after spending the winter in dry dock and is now preparing for the busy summer period ahead. Further further information on this project please see Carolina 1815
